Team GB's men's 4x400m relay team have been thrown out of the Olympics after an 'incredibly harsh' decision robbed them of any chance of a medal in Rio.
The quartet of Nigel Levine, Delano Williams, Matt Hudson-Smith and Martyn Rooney came home first in their semi-final and looked set for a medal.
But there was uproar minutes later as Olympic authorities apparently ruled one of the sprinters had started running outside of the zone where they must handover the baton.
However television replays do not appear to show any of the British runners breaking the rules and athletics officials have not explained why they were disqualified.

Team GB's men charged over the line in a time of two minutes and 58.88 seconds - winning them the semi final and making them the third fastest team to qualify for the final, behind Jamaica and the United States.
But Rooney was apparently judged to have started running while he was outside of the 20m changeover area where the baton is passed between team mates.
It was also suggested that Rooney may have changed lanes before he was handed the baton, however replays show he was correctly in lane one.
